A Smart Pet Care System — Not Just for Convenience, but also for Disease Prevention
Sometimes it’s only when routine tasks disappear that we realise how much time they actually take. Pet owners often get used to small but constant responsibilities: filling the food bowl, changing the water, cleaning the litter box. These tasks are done out of love to ensure a pet lacks nothing, yet over time they can become tiring.
Today, smart technologies are entering the world of pet care, allowing many daily tasks to be entrusted to intelligent devices. “Constant attention and meeting pets’ everyday needs are essential for their well-being, and modern technologies now make this possible with minimal effort. You can not only automate routine tasks, but also detect changes in your pet’s health that are often invisible to the naked eye,” says Dovilė Lenkšienė, Head of Brand Development at ACC Distribution.

This approach is reflected in Petkit’s products, which focus on sustainable, technology-driven pet care for every home.
An Automatic Litter Box That Cares Not Only for Cleanliness, but also for Your Cat’s Health
Anyone who has ever cleaned a cat’s litter box knows it’s not the most glamorous ritual. And even if you do it out of love for your cat, you’d probably prefer that the family doesn’t have to debate whose turn it is to grab the scoop.
This unavoidable task can now be handled by the recently launched open-design, self-cleaning automatic litter box, the Petkit Purobot Crystal Duo. The device is designed for ease of use for both the owner and the pet. After the cat uses the litter box, the automatic cleaning mechanism activates, waste is transferred to a sealed container, odours are neutralised, and the box is clean again.
The litter box is also equipped with smart sensors that monitor your cat’s movement, weight, and frequency of use. This not only ensures efficient operation, but also allows you to track changes in your pet’s health.

“For example, more frequent visits may indicate urinary tract issues, while weight changes can signal potential health concerns. All this data is easily accessible via a mobile app. The system works even in multi-cat households, as the box recognises pets by weight and through an integrated camera powered by artificial intelligence, allowing each cat’s habits to be tracked individually,” adds D. Lenkšienė.
Quiet Operation, Safety and Reduced Litter Consumption
One of the key advantages of the Purobot Crystal Duo is its ultra-quiet operation. The cleaning mechanism runs so gently that cats often don’t even notice it, which is particularly important for sensitive or older pets.
“Safety is another crucial aspect of smart solutions. Self-cleaning automatic litter boxes feature built-in sensors that detect when a cat enters and exits. Cleaning is activated only once the pet has left the box, eliminating any risk of the mechanism operating at the wrong time. This provides peace of mind for the owner and complete comfort for the cat,” says the specialist.
These features are also found in other enclosed Petkit self-cleaning litter box models — the Purobot Max Pro, Pura Max 2, and one of the most popular choices among cat owners, the Purobot Ultra. Unlike the open-type Crystal Duo, these models feature an enclosed design that more effectively traps odours, isolates bacteria, and provides greater privacy for pets. This is particularly relevant in homes where the litter box is placed in shared spaces.

Enclosed self-cleaning litter boxes only need to be emptied once every 17 days. In addition, all models are designed to use only the necessary amount of litter — the system distributes it evenly, reducing overall consumption. This makes them not only cost-effective, but also environmentally friendly.
Everything You Need for Smart Pet Care
The Petkit range offers far more than a single smart solution — it is a comprehensive pet care system designed to simplify your pet’s daily routine, from feeding to travel.
- Automatic Feeders
Petkit smart feeders allow you to dispense food automatically according to a customised schedule. This is not only convenient, but also helps prevent overeating and irregular feeding. Some models feature an integrated camera, allowing you to monitor your pet remotely, ensure they’ve eaten, and even speak to and hear them through a built-in speaker.

- Smart Water Fountains
Regular hydration is essential for animal health, especially for cats, which are not naturally inclined to drink large amounts of water. They are more attracted to running water than stagnant water, as it instinctively signals freshness and cleanliness. Circulating water in a fountain encourages increased water intake, supporting kidney and urinary tract health. Most Petkit models feature multi-layer filtration systems, and some include additional UVC sterilisation to reduce bacteria and viruses in the water. Smart sensors notify you about water levels, while quiet operation ensures pets are not disturbed.

- Travel Accessories
Comfortable, ergonomic pet backpacks and carriers ensure safe and comfortable travel for both pets and their owners. The backpacks include ventilation openings, wide-visibility windows, and some models even feature a cooling function. This is particularly convenient for travelling, using public transport, or hiking.
- Other Smart Accessories
Petkit also offers other advanced pet care solutions, from smart odour neutralisers and comfortable beds to multifunctional grooming devices that trim, dry, and vacuum your pet’s fur simultaneously. These solutions make it easier to maintain your pet’s cleanliness and comfort at home in an efficient and stress-free way.

“Smart technologies in pet care are not just about making everyday tasks easier or more convenient for the owner. They also provide direct insight into important behavioural and health indicators, allowing even subtle changes to be detected before symptoms of illness appear. When decisions are based on data rather than intuition alone, pet care becomes not only more efficient, but significantly more responsible,” concludes D. Lenkšienė.
